About Our Resort

Goshorn Lake Resort & a section of the lakeThank you for visiting the Goshorn Lake Cottage Condominiums web page. Many of you that will be viewing this site have already stayed with us at the resort. We truly hope your stay was an enjoyable experience. Cathy and I have been working very hard at building up the amenities and overall condition of the resort from the late 90s to 2007.  Those of you who have been staying with us for the last several years can attest to the rather tremendous changes that have occurred in the overall resort appearance. Most of the cottages are new and all of the original units have been remodeled extensively. We've tried hard to make it a friendly, family, relaxing vacation getaway. The proximity to Saugatuck, Lake Michigan, the dunes, our unique location on Goshorn Lake with our sandy swimming beach, and in general the beautiful Saugatuck vacation area, has made our job a little easier. See our Map Page for directions to the resort.

For those of you who have not visited our resort before, we'd like to say a few words about our project and about ourselves. Ric has been in the lodging business for the better part of his adult life, with Cathy helping out for the majority of that time. Our first experience at owning and operating our own lodging establishment began when we purchased a building in 1982 on the Lake Michigan Shore of Douglas that had previously been a boarding house and then remodeled into a large residential home. The Rosemont Inn was extensively remodeled and opened as an 8 unit bed & breakfast. We latter added 6 more rooms and additional common areas and ran the business until 1990. The purchase of the Goshorn Lake Resort came 3 years latter when the property had only been on the market for a matter of days. At that time we felt there was a lack of lodging that was geared specifically toward the family. Our goal was to try to fill that gap and hopefully we have accomplished that in at least a small way.

The decision to sell the resort in 2007 was in the works for several years. We hope that the resort's quiet atmosphere is appreciated by our guests and future cottage owners. The amenities that we are added will hopefully further the positive vacation experience. Our hope is that the resort will continue to operate as it has in the past with a personal touch from the management team that will be in place as the cottages are sold. Our goal is to have the association maintain the friendly atmosphere that has existed through the years and will continue into the future.
